Musnad Ahmad 266:8

Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq informed us, he said: Abdullah ibn Abi Bakr narrated to me, that Abu Usayd used to say: "I obtained on the day of Badr the sword of Ibn 'Aidh, the Marzuban. When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) commanded the people to return what was in their hands, I came with it until I cast it into the spoils (nafal)." He said: "And the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) would not refuse anything he was asked for." He said: "Al-Arqam ibn Abi al-Arqam al-Makhzumi recognized it, so he asked the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) for it, and he gave it to him." It was read to Ya'qub regarding the military expeditions (maghazi) of his father, or heard. Ibn Ishaq said: Abdullah ibn Abi Bakr narrated to me, he said: Some of the Banu Sa'idah narrated to me, from Abu Usayd Malik ibn Rabi'ah, he said: "I obtained the sword of the Banu 'Aidh al-Makhzumiyyin, the Marzuban, on the day of Badr. When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) commanded the people to return what was in their hands of the spoils, I came with it until I cast it into the spoils. And the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) would not refuse anything he was asked for. Al-Arqam ibn Abi al-Arqam recognized it, so he asked the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) for it, and he gave it to him."
