Musnad Ahmad 929:3

Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from al-Taymi, from Abu 'Uthman, from Ubayy ibn Ka'b, who said: There was a man in Medina—I do not know of any man whose house was further from the mosque than his. It was said to him: "If only you bought a donkey to ride in the heat and the darkness." He said: "It would not please me if my house were next to the mosque." The talk of this reached the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), so he said: "What did you intend by your saying: 'It would not please me if my house were next to the mosque'?" He said: "I intended that my coming when I come to the mosque, and my returning when I return to my family, be recorded for me." He said: "Allah has given you all of that," or "Allah has given you all that you sought," or "Allah has given you all of that which you sought."
