Yunus and Surayj narrated to us, they said: Fulayh narrated to us, from Damrah ibn Sa’id, from Ubayd Allah ibn Abd Allah ibn Utbah ibn Mas’ud, from Abu Waqid al-Laythi, who said: Umar asked me about what the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) recited in the two Eid prayers. Surayj said: With what did the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) recite in the prayer of going out [to the prayer ground]? He said: So I said: "He recited: 'The Hour has drawn near and the moon has split' (Surah Al-Qamar) and 'Qaf. By the Glorious Qur'an' (Surah Qaf)."
