Yunus ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Hammad—meaning ibn Zayd—narrated to us, from Ayyub, from Muhammad ibn Sirin, from Abu Ubaydah ibn Hudhayfah, from a man—Hammad and Hisham said, from Muhammad, from Abu Ubaydah, and did not mention "from a man"—he said: Hammad said: I used to ask people about the hadith of Adi ibn Hatim, and he was by my side, yet I did not ask him about it. Then I came to him and asked him, and he said: "Yes, the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was sent when he was sent, and I hated it more than I hated anything ever."
