Musnad Ahmad 774:24

Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, Al-A'mash narrated to us, from Ibrahim, from 'Adi ibn Hatim, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "If you send your dog and mention the name of Allah, but it mixes with other dogs and they all catch it together, then do not eat, for you do not know which of them caught it. And if you shoot and mention the name of Allah, and it pierces, then eat. But if it does not pierce, then do not eat. And do not eat from that which is killed by a blunt projectile (mi'rad) except that which you slaughter. And do not eat from that which is killed by a pellet (bunduqah) except that which you slaughter."
