Musnad Ahmad 536:10

Ahmad ibn al-Hajjaj narrated to us, he said: Abdullah—meaning Ibn al-Mubarak—narrated to us, he said: Sayf ibn Abi Sulayman informed us, he said: I heard ‘Adi ibn ‘Adi al-Kindi saying: A freed slave of ours narrated to me that he heard my grandfather saying: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, saying: "Indeed, Allah does not punish..."—then he mentioned the hadith.
