Hadith 627:2
Yahya ibn Sa’id and Waki’ narrated to us, from Zakariyya. Waki’ said: From ‘Amir. And Yahya said in his narration: ‘Amir narrated to me, saying: ‘Adi ibn Hatim narrated to us, saying: I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about hunting with a *mi’rad* (a blunt-headed arrow). He said: "Whatever you hit with its sharp edge, eat it; and whatever you hit with its side, it is *waqidh* (killed by the impact/blunt force)." And I asked him about hunting with a dog. Waki’ said: "When you send your dog and mention the name of Allah, then eat." He said: "Whatever it catches for you and does not eat, eat it, for its catching is its slaughtering. But if you find another dog with your dog, and you fear that it caught it along with it and killed it, then do not eat, for you only mentioned the name of Allah over your dog, and you did not mention it over the other."
حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد، ووكيع، عن زكريا، قال وكيع: عن عامر، وقال يحيى في حديثه، قال: حدثني عامر، قال: حدثنا عدي بن حاتم، قال: سألت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن صيد المعراض، فقال: " ما أصبت بحده فكله، وما أصبت بعرضه، فهو وقيذ " وسألته عن صيد الكلب، قال وكيع،: " إذا أرسلت كلبك، وذكرت اسم الله، فكل " فقال: " وما أمسك عليك ولم يأكل فكله، فإن أخذه ذكاته. وإن وجدت مع كلبك كلبا آخر، فخشيت أن يكون أخذه معه وقد قتله، فلا تأكل، فإنك إنما ذكرت اسم الله على كلبك، ولم تذكره على غيره " . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
