Hadith 852:3
Muhammad ibn Abi ‘Adi narrated to us, from Sulayman—meaning al-Taymi—from a sheikh in the gathering of Abu ‘Uthman, from ‘A’idh ibn ‘Amr, who said: "There was a scarcity of water, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed ablution from a cup or a bowl, and we sprinkled it [the remaining water] upon ourselves." He said: "And the fortunate one among us was he who was touched by it, and we do not think but that it touched the entire group." He said: "Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) led us in the Duha prayer."
حدثنا محمد بن أبي عدي، عن سليمان يعني التيمي، عن شيخ في مجلس أبي عثمان، عن عائذ بن عمرو، قال: " كان في الماء قلة، فتوضأ رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في قدح، أو في جفنة، فنضحنا به "، قال: " والسعيد في أنفسنا من أصابه، ولا نراه إلا قد أصاب، القوم كلهم "، قال: " ثم صلى بنا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم الضحى "
