Hadith 852:4
Muhanna ibn Abd al-Hamid Abu Shibl and Hassan—meaning Ibn Musa—narrated to us, they said: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, the meaning, from Thabit, from Mu’awiyah ibn Qurrah, from ‘A’idh ibn ‘Amr, that Salman, Suhayb, and Bilal were sitting among some people. Abu Sufyan ibn Harb passed by them, and they said: "The swords of Allah have not yet taken their due from the neck of the enemy of Allah." Abu Bakr said: "Do you say this to the elder of Quraysh and their master?" He said: So that was reported to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and he said: "O Abu Bakr, perhaps you have angered them. If you have angered them, you have indeed angered your Lord." So he returned to them and said: "O my brothers, perhaps you were angered?" They said: "No, O Abu Bakr, may Allah forgive you."
حدثنا مهنأ بن عبد الحميد أبو شبل، وحسن يعني ابن موسى، قالا: حدثنا حماد بن سلمة، المعنى، عن ثابت، عن معاوية بن قرة، عن عائذ بن عمرو، أن سلمان، وصهيبا، وبلالا كانوا قعودا في أناس، فمر بهم أبو سفيان بن حرب، فقالوا: ما أخذت سيوف الله من عنق عدو الله مأخذها بعد، فقال أبو بكر: أتقولون هذا لشيخ قريش وسيدها؟ قال: فأخبر بذلك النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقال: " يا أبا بكر، لعلك أغضبتهم، فلئن كنت أغضبتهم، لقد أغضبت ربك فرجع إليهم، فقال: أي إخوتنا لعلكم غضبتم، فقالوا: لا يا أبا بكر، يغفر الله لك،
