Musnad Ahmad 21:24

Ya'qub narrated to us, my father narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq, Yahya ibn Abi al-Ash'ath narrated to me, from Isma'il ibn Iyas ibn 'Afif al-Kindi, from his father, from his grandfather, who said: I was a merchant, and I came for Hajj. I went to al-'Abbas ibn 'Abd al-Muttalib to buy some merchandise from him, for he was a merchant. By Allah, while I was with him at Mina, a man emerged from a tent near him. He looked at the sun, and when he saw that it had inclined—meaning he stood to pray. Then a woman emerged from that tent from which that man had emerged, and she stood behind him praying. Then a boy who had reached the age of puberty emerged from that tent, and he stood with him praying. I said to al-'Abbas: "Who is this, O 'Abbas?" He said: "This is Muhammad ibn 'Abdullah ibn 'Abd al-Muttalib, my nephew." I said: "Who is this woman?" He said: "This is his wife, Khadijah bint Khuwaylid." I said: "Who is this youth?" He said: "This is 'Ali ibn Abi Talib, his cousin." I said: "What is this that he is doing?" He said: "He is praying, and he claims that he is a Prophet. No one has followed him in his affair except his wife and this youth, his cousin. And he claims that the treasures of Chosroes and Caesar will be opened for him." 'Afif—who was the cousin of al-Ash'ath ibn Qays—used to say, after he had embraced Islam and his Islam became excellent: "If only Allah had granted me Islam on that day, so that I would have been the third with 'Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him."
