Hadith 127:1
'Affan narrated to us, Hammad bin Salamah narrated to us, 'Ali bin Zayd informed us, from 'Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Bakrah, from al-Aswad bin Sari', who said: I came to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have praised my Lord, Blessed and Exalted is He, with praises, and I have praised you." He said: "Bring forth what you have praised your Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, with." He said: So I began to recite them to him. Then a dark-complexioned man came and asked for permission [to enter]. The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Wait, wait." He said: So he spoke for a while, then left. He said: So I began to recite them to him again. He said: Then he came and asked for permission. The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Wait, wait." He did that twice—or three times. He said: I said: "O Messenger of Allah, who is this person for whom you asked me to pause?" He said: "This is 'Umar bin al-Khattab. This is a man who does not love falsehood."
حدثنا عفان، حدثنا حماد بن سلمة، أخبرنا علي بن زيد، عن عبد الرحمن بن أبي بكرة، عن الأسود بن سريع، قال: أتيت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فقلت: يا رسول الله، إني قد حمدت ربي تبارك وتعالى بمحامد، ومدح وإياك، قال: " هات ما حمدت به ربك عز وجل " قال: فجعلت أنشده، فجاء رجل أدلم فاستأذن، قال: فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: " بين بين " قال: فتكلم ساعة، ثم خرج قال: فجعلت أنشده، قال: ثم جاء فاستأذن، قال: فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: " بين بين " ففعل ذاك مرتين - أو ثلاثا -، قال: قلت: يا رسول الله، من هذا الذي استنصتني له؟ قال: " عمر بن الخطاب هذا رجل لا يحب الباطل "
