Hadith 127:4
Yunus narrated to us, Aban narrated to us, from Qatadah, from al-Hasan, from al-Aswad ibn Sari’, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent a military detachment on the day of Hunayn. They fought the polytheists, and the killing led them to the offspring. When they came, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "What compelled you to kill the offspring?" They said: "O Messenger of Allah, they were only the children of the polytheists." He said: "Are not the best of you also the children of the polytheists? By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, there is no soul that is born except upon the *fitrah* (natural disposition), until its tongue expresses it."
حدثنا يونس، حدثنا أبان، عن قتادة، عن الحسن، عن الأسود بن سريع، أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بعث سرية يوم حنين، فقاتلوا المشركين، فأفضى بهم القتل إلى الذرية، فلما جاءوا قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " ما حملكم على قتل الذرية؟ " قالوا: يا رسول الله، إنما كانوا أولاد المشركين، قال: " أوهل خياركم إلا أولاد المشركين، والذي نفس محمد بيده ما من نسمة تولد، إلا على الفطرة حتى يعرب عنها لسانها " . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
