Aswad ibn Amir narrated to us, Isra’il (or someone else) informed us, from Abu Ishaq, from al-Bara’ who said: A silk garment was gifted to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. We began touching it and marveling at it, and we said: "We have never seen a garment better or softer than this." The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Does this amaze you?" We said: "Yes." He said: "The handkerchiefs of Sa’d ibn Mu’adh in Paradise are better and softer than this." *** Qutaybah ibn Sa’id narrated to us—Abu Abd al-Rahman said: Qutaybah wrote this to me—Abthar ibn al-Qasim narrated to us, from Burd, the brother of Yazid ibn Abi Ziyad, from al-Musayyab ibn Rafi’ who said: I heard al-Bara’ ibn ‘Azib saying: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Whoever follows a funeral procession until he prays over it, he shall have a qirat of reward. And whoever walks with the funeral procession until it is buried—and he said once: until he is buried—he shall have two qirats of reward, and the qirat is like Uhud."
