Musnad Ahmad 658:138

Muhammad ibn Mus'ab narrated to us, al-Awza'i narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Haram ibn Muhayyisah, from al-Bara' ibn 'Azib, that he had a fierce she-camel, and it entered a garden and caused damage in it. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, decreed that the protection of gardens during the day is upon their owners, and that the protection of livestock during the night is upon their owners, and that whatever the livestock destroys during the night, it is upon their owners.
