Musnad Ahmad 658:149

Ali bin Asim narrated to us, Husayn bin Abd al-Rahman informed us, from Sa'd bin Ubaydah, from al-Bara' bin Azib, from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) who said: "When a man lies down and rests his head on his right hand, then says: 'O Allah, I have submitted my soul to You, and entrusted my affair to You, and leaned my back upon You, and turned my face toward You, out of fear of You and hope in You. There is no refuge and no escape from You except to You. I have believed in Your Book which You revealed, and in Your Prophet whom You sent.' And he spends the night upon that, a house is built for him in Paradise, or a house is prepared for him in Paradise." Abdullah bin Muhammad narrated to us, he said: Abu Abd al-Rahman said: I heard it myself from Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Abi Shaybah, he said: Abu Khalid al-Ahmar narrated to us, from al-Hasan bin Ubayd Allah, from Talhah, from Abd al-Rahman bin Awsajah, from al-Bara' who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Straighten your rows, lest you be penetrated by the offspring of the *hadhaf*." It was said: O Messenger of Allah, what is the offspring of the *hadhaf*? He said: "Black, hairless [sheep/goats] that are in the land of Yemen." Abdullah bin Muhammad narrated to us, he said: Abu Abd al-Rahman said: I heard it myself from Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Abi Shaybah, he said: Sharik narrated to us, from al-Hasan bin al-Hakam, from Adi bin Thabit, from al-Bara' who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever dwells in the desert becomes harsh." Uthman bin Muhammad narrated to us, Abdullah said: I heard it myself from Uthman, he said: Jarir bin Abd al-Hamid narrated to us, from Mutarrif, from Abu al-Jahm, from al-Bara' bin Azib, "that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent [someone] to a man who had married his father's wife, to kill him." Harun bin Ma'ruf narrated to us, Abdullah said: And I think I heard it from him, he said: Ibn Wahb narrated to us, Jarir bin Hazim narrated to me, he said: I heard Abu Ishaq al-Hamdani saying: Abd al-Rahman bin Awsajah narrated to me, from al-Bara' bin Azib who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to come to us, and he would wipe our shoulders and our chests and say: "Do not differ in your rows, lest your hearts differ. Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the first row, or the first rows."
