Musnad Ahmad 658:22

Sufyan narrated to us, Abu Janab informed us, from Yazid ibn al-Bara’, from his father: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) delivered a sermon on the Day of Sacrifice (Yawm al-Nahr) and said: "Indeed, the first of your rites on this day is the prayer." Abu Burdah ibn Niyar, my maternal uncle—and Sufyan said: He was a veteran of Badr—stood up to him and said: "O Messenger of Allah, it was a day in which we craved meat, so we hastened and slaughtered [our animals]." The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Then replace it." He said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have a young goat (jadha')." He said: "It is [acceptable] for you, but it shall not be [acceptable] for anyone after you."
