Musnad Ahmad 656:3

Hassan ibn Musa narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Dawud, from al-Sha’bi, from ‘Alqamah, that a man married a woman, and her husband died before he had consummated the marriage with her, and he had not specified a dowry for her. ‘Abdullah was asked about her, and he said: "She shall have a dowry like that of her peers, without deficiency and without excess, and she shall have the inheritance, and she must observe the waiting period (‘iddah)." Then Abu Sinan al-Ashja‘i stood up among a group from Ashja‘ and said: "We bear witness that you have judged regarding her with the judgment of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, in the case of Buru’ bint Washiq."
