Hadith 224:1
Abu Sa’id, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Alathah narrated to us, saying: ‘Abd al-‘Aziz ibn ‘Umar ibn ‘Abd al-‘Aziz narrated to us, saying: Khalid ibn al-Lajlaj narrated to us, that his father narrated to him, saying: While we were in the marketplace, a woman passed by carrying a young boy, and the people rushed, and I rushed with them. I reached the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) while he was saying to her: "Who is the father of this?" She remained silent. He said: "Who is the father of this?" She remained silent. A young man beside her said: "O Messenger of Allah, she is young in age and recently experienced a disgrace, and she will not tell you. I am his father, O Messenger of Allah." He (the Prophet) turned to those who were with him as if asking them about him, and they said: "We know nothing of him but good"—or something to that effect. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to him: "Have you been married?" He said: "Yes." So he ordered that he be stoned. We went and dug a hole for him until we had him positioned, and we pelted him with stones until he became still. Then we returned to our gatherings. While we were like that, I saw an old man asking about the young man. We stood up to him and grabbed him by his garment, and we brought him to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, this man has come asking about the wicked one." He said: "Desist! He is more pleasant in scent to Allah than musk." He said: So we went and helped with his washing, his embalming, his shrouding, and we dug [a grave] for him. I do not know if he mentioned the prayer or not.
حدثنا أبو سعيد، مولى بني هاشم، قال: حدثنا محمد بن عبد الله بن علاثة، قال: حدثنا عبد العزيز بن عمر بن عبد العزيز، قال: حدثنا خالد بن اللجلاج، أن أباه حدثه، قال: بينما نحن في السوق، إذ مرت امرأة تحمل صبيا فثار الناس، وثرت معهم، فانتهيت إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وهو يقول لها: " من أبو هذا؟ " فسكتت، فقال: " من أبو هذا؟ " فسكتت، فقال شاب بحذائها: يا رسول الله، إنها حديثة السن، حديثة عهد بخزية، وإنها لن تخبرك، وأنا أبوه يا رسول الله، فالتفت إلى من عنده كأنه يسألهم عنه، فقالوا: ما علمنا إلا خيرا - أو نحو ذلك - فقال له رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " أحصنت؟ " قال: نعم، فأمر برجمه، فذهبنا فحفرنا له حتى أمكنا، ورميناه بالحجارة حتى هدأ، ثم رجعنا إلى مجالسنا، فبينما نحن كذلك، إذ أنا بشيخ يسأل عن الفتى، فقمنا إليه فأخذنا بتلابيبه، فجئنا به إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ، فقلنا: يا رسول الله إن هذا جاء يسأل عن الخبيث، فقال: " مه، لهو أطيب عند الله ريحا من المسك " قال: فذهبنا فأعناه على غسله، وحنوطه وتكفينه وحفرنا له ولا أدري أذكر الصلاة أم لا
