Hadith of Al-Miswar bin Makhramah Az-Zuhri and Marwan bin Al-Hakam (RA)
Hadith 695:10
'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from 'Urwah ibn al-Zubayr, from al-Miswar ibn Makhramah, who said: I heard the Ansar [saying] that Abu 'Ubaydah arrived with wealth from Bahrain, and the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, had sent him to Bahrain. He coincided with the Messenger of Allah for the morning prayer. When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, finished, they approached him. When he saw them, he smiled and said: "Perhaps you have heard that Abu 'Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrah has arrived and has brought wealth?" They said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "Rejoice and hope for what pleases you. By Allah, it is not poverty that I fear for you, but I fear that the world will be poured out upon you, so you will compete for it just as those who were before you competed for it."
