Musnad Ahmad 695:15

'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from 'Awf ibn al-Harith—who is the son of 'Aishah's brother through her mother—that 'Aishah narrated to him that 'Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr said regarding a sale or a gift she had given: "By Allah, 'Aishah must stop, or I will place her under interdiction (hajr)." 'Aishah, may Allah be pleased with her, said: "Did he say that?" They said: "Yes." She said: "It is a vow upon me to Allah that I will never speak to Ibn al-Zubayr again." 'Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr sought the intercession of al-Miswar ibn Makhramah and 'Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Aswad ibn 'Abd Yaghuth, and they were both from Banu Zuhrah. He mentioned the rest of the hadith. Al-Miswar and 'Abd al-Rahman began to implore 'Aishah to speak to him and accept from him, saying to her: "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, has forbidden what you know of shunning (hajr). 'It is not lawful for a Muslim to shun his brother for more than three nights.'"
