Hadith of Al-Miswar bin Makhramah Az-Zuhri and Marwan bin Al-Hakam (RA)
Hadith 695:23
Yahya ibn Sa'id al-Qattan narrated to us, he said: Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, Ma'mar narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Urwah, from al-Miswar ibn Makhramah and Marwan ibn al-Hakam, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, went out at the time of al-Hudaybiyah with more than a thousand [men]. He mentioned the hadith. From here it is attached to the hadith of al-Zuhri, from al-Qasim ibn Muhammad, who said: Abu Basir said to the Amirite, while he had his sword with him: "I see this sword of yours, O brother of Banu Amir, is good?" He said: "Yes, indeed." He said: "Show it to me so I may look at it." He said: So he gave it to him, and Abu Basir drew it, then struck the Amirite until he killed him. The client fled, running quickly toward the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. He entered—they claim—upon the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, while he was in the mosque, and the pebbles were ringing from the intensity of his running. When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, saw him, he said to him: "This one has seen terror." He mentioned something similar to the hadith of Abd al-Razzaq. He said: When the disbelievers of Quraysh saw that, a group of them rode to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and said: "Your treaty does not avail anything, while we are being killed and our wealth is being plundered. We ask you to include those who have accepted Islam from us into your peace treaty, and to protect them, and to restrain their fighting against us." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, did that. And Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, revealed: "And it is He who withheld their hands from you and your hands from them" [al-Fath: 24]. He recited until he reached "the zeal of ignorance" [al-Fath: 26].
