Waki’ narrated to us, Sa’id ibn ‘Ubayd al-Ta’i and Muhammad ibn Qays al-Asadi narrated to us, from ‘Ali ibn Rabi’ah al-Walibi, who said: The first person to be wailed over in Kufa was Qurzah ibn Ka’b al-Ansari. Al-Mughirah ibn Shu’bah said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, say: "Whoever is wailed over, he will be punished for what was wailed over him on the Day of Resurrection."
