Musnad Ahmad 626:68

Abdullah ibn Idris narrated to us, he said: I heard my father mentioning it from Simak, from Alqamah ibn Wa'il, from al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent me to Najran. He said: So they said: "Do you see what you recite, 'O sister of Aaron' (Maryam 19:28), while Moses was before Jesus by such and such [a period of time]?" He said: So I returned and mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he said: "Did you not inform them that they used to name [people] after the prophets and the righteous who were before them?"
