Musnad Ahmad 1239:4

Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, who said: Kathir ibn Kathir narrated to me, from his father, from al-Muttalib ibn Abi Wada'ah, who said: "I saw the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, when he finished his circuit (tawaf), he came to the edge of the tawaf area and prayed two rak'ahs, and there was no one between him and the tawaf area."
