Musnad Ahmad 652:10

Abu Kamil narrated to us, Zuhayr narrated to us, Simak ibn Harb narrated to us, he said: I heard al-Nu’man ibn Bashir saying upon the pulpit of Kufa: "By Allah, the Prophet (peace be upon him)—or he said: your Prophet (peace be upon him)—would not eat his fill of low-quality dates (daqal). Yet you are not satisfied with anything less than various types of dates and butter."
