Hadith of Al-Nu'man ibn Bashir (RA) from the Prophet (SAW)
Hadith 652:24
Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from Zakariyya, who said: 'Amir narrated to us, saying: I heard al-Nu'man ibn Bashir delivering a sermon, and he gestured with his finger toward his ears, saying: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, say: "The likeness of the one who upholds the limits of Allah and the one who falls into them, and the one who compromises regarding them, is like a people who boarded a ship. Some of them were assigned to its lower part, its roughest and worst part, and some of them were assigned to its upper part. When those in the lower part needed water, they passed by those above them and annoyed them. They said: 'If we were to make a hole in our portion to draw water from it, we would not annoy those above us.' If they leave them to their own devices, they will all perish, but if they restrain their hands, they will all be saved."
