Musnad Ahmad 652:48

Waki’ narrated to us, from Isra’il, from Abu Ishaq, from al-’Aizar ibn Hurayth, from al-Nu’man ibn Bashir, who said: Abu Bakr came seeking permission to enter upon the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and he heard ‘Aishah raising her voice at the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. He gave him permission, so he entered and said: "O daughter of Umm Ruman," and he grabbed her, "do you raise your voice at the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace?" The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, came between him and her. When Abu Bakr left, the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, began saying to her, seeking to please her: "Do you not see that I came between the man and you?" Then Abu Bakr came and sought permission to enter upon him, and he found him joking with her. He gave him permission, so he entered. Abu Bakr said to him: "O Messenger of Allah, include me in your peace, just as you included me in your war."
