'Affan narrated to us, Aban al-'Attar narrated to us, Qatadah narrated to us, from Khalid ibn 'Arfatah, from Habib ibn Salim. And Aban said: Qatadah informed us that he wrote to Habib ibn Salim regarding it, and he wrote back to him that a man who was called 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Hunayn—who was nicknamed Qurqur—was brought before al-Nu'man ibn Bashir for having sexual intercourse with his wife's slave girl. He said: "I will surely judge you with the judgment of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace): If she had made herself lawful for you, I will lash you one hundred times; and if she had not made herself lawful for you, I will stone you." He found that she had made herself lawful for him, so he lashed him one hundred times.
