حديث الشريد بن سويد الثقفي
Hadith 785:14
Rawh narrated to us, Zakariya ibn Ishaq narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn Maysarah narrated to us, that he heard ‘Amr ibn al-Sharid saying: Al-Sharid said: I was riding behind the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and he said to me: "Do you have any of the poetry of Umayyah ibn Abi al-Salt with you?" I said: "Yes." He said: "Recite to me." So I recited a verse to him, and he did not cease saying to me whenever I recited to him: "Go on," until I had recited one hundred verses to him. He said: Then the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, remained silent.
حدثنا روح، حدثنا زكريا بن إسحاق، حدثنا إبراهيم بن ميسرة، أنه سمع عمرو بن الشريد، يقول: قال الشريد: كنت ردفا لرسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقال لي: " أمعك من شعر أمية بن أبي الصلت شيء؟ " قلت: نعم، فقال: " أنشدني "، فأنشدته بيتا، فلم يزل يقول لي كلما أنشدته: " إيه " حتى أنشدته مائة بيت. قال: ثم سكت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وسكت
