Hadith of ‘Alim (RA)

Hadith 263:1

Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, he said: Sharik ibn Abdullah narrated to us, from Uthman ibn Umayr, from Zadhan Abu Umar, from Ulaym, who said: We were sitting on a roof with a man from the companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace—Yazid said: I do not know him except as Abs al-Ghifari—and the people were going out [fleeing] during the plague. Abs said: "O plague, take me," saying it three times. Ulaym said to him: "Why do you say this? Did the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, not say: 'None of you should wish for death, for when he dies, his deeds are cut off, and he will not be returned so that he may seek to please [God]?'" He said: "I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, say: 'Hasten toward death before six things: the rule of the foolish, the abundance of police, the selling of judgment, the trivialization of bloodshed, the severing of kinship ties, and a generation that takes the Quran as musical instruments; they put forward one to sing for them, even if he is the least of them in jurisprudence.'"

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
