Musnad Ahmad 706:1

Waki’ narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Abu Ishaq, from Numayr ibn ‘Urayb, from ‘Amir ibn Mas’ud al-Jumahi, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Fasting in winter is the cold spoils of war."
