Hadith of Amir ibn Rabiah (RA)

Hadith 146:29

Waki’ narrated to us, my father narrated to us, from Abdullah ibn Isa, from Umayyah ibn Hind ibn Sahl ibn Hunayf, from Abdullah ibn Amir, who said: Amir ibn Rabi’ah and Sahl ibn Hunayf set out intending to bathe. He said: They went seeking a secluded place. He said: Amir placed a wool cloak he was wearing, and I looked at him and struck him with my eye. He went down into the water to bathe. He said: I heard a commotion from him in the water, so I came to him and called out to him three times, but he did not answer me. I came to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and informed him. He said: So he came walking and waded through the water—it is as if I am looking at the whiteness of his shins. He said: Then he struck his chest with his hand and said: "O Allah, remove from him its heat, its cold, and its ailment." He said: So he stood up. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "If one of you sees in his brother, or in himself, or in his wealth that which pleases him, let him invoke blessings upon it, for the evil eye is true."

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
