Hadith 688:15
Uthman ibn Umar narrated to us, he said: Yunus narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Ubayd Allah ibn Abd Allah ibn Utbah, that Ammar ibn Yasir used to narrate that the concession which Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, revealed regarding the soil—then he mentioned the hadith, except that he said: "They struck their palms upon the soil, then they wiped their faces with it in one wiping. Then they returned and struck [the soil again], and they wiped their hands up to the shoulders and the armpits."
حدثنا عثمان بن عمر قال: حدثنا يونس ، عن الزهري، عن عبيد الله بن عبد الله بن عتبة، أن عمار بن ياسر كان يحدث، أن الرخصة التي أنزل الله عز وجل في الصعيد، فذكر الحديث، إلا أنه، قال: " إنهم ضربوا أكفهم في الصعيد، فمسحوا به وجوههم مسحة واحدة، ثم عادوا فضربوا فمسحوا أيديهم إلى المناكب والآباط "
