Hadith 688:6
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from 'Amr ibn Murrah, who said: I heard 'Abdullah ibn Salamah saying: I saw 'Ammar on the day of Siffin, an old man, dark-skinned, tall, holding a spear in his hand, and his hand was trembling. He said: "By the One in Whose hand is my soul, I have fought with this banner alongside the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, three times, and this is the fourth. By the One in Whose hand is my soul, if they were to strike us until they reached the palm branches of Hajar with us, I would know that those who are correcting us are upon the truth, and that they [the others] are upon misguidance."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر، حدثنا شعبة، عن عمرو بن مرة، قال: سمعت عبد الله بن سلمة يقول: رأيت عمارا يوم صفين، شيخا كبيرا آدم، طوالا آخذا الحربة بيده، ويده ترعد فقال: " والذي نفسي بيده لقد قاتلت بهذه الراية مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ثلاث مرات، وهذه الرابعة، والذي نفسي بيده، لو ضربونا حتى يبلغوا بنا سعفات هجر، لعرفت أن مصلحينا على الحق، وأنهم على الضلالة "
