Musnad Ahmad 648:13

Ishaq al-Azraq narrated to us, from Sharik, from Abu Hashim, from Abu Mijlaz, who said: Ammar led us in prayer and made it brief, so they disapproved of that. He said: "Did I not complete the bowing (ruku) and the prostration (sujud)?" They said: "Yes." He said: "Indeed, I recited in them a supplication that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to recite: 'O Allah, by Your knowledge of the unseen and Your power over the creation, grant me life as long as You know that life is better for me, and take my soul when You know that death is better for me. I ask You for Your fear in the unseen and the seen, a word of truth in anger and pleasure, moderation in poverty and wealth, the delight of looking at Your Face, and the longing to meet You. And I seek refuge in You from a harmful distress and from a misleading trial. O Allah, adorn us with the adornment of faith, and make us guides who are guided.'"
