Hadith 648:7
'Affan and Yunus narrated to us, they said: Aban narrated to us, Qatadah narrated to us, from 'Uzrah, from Sa'id ibn 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abza, from his father, from 'Ammar ibn Yasir, that the Prophet of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said—Yunus said: He asked the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, about Tayammum, and he said: "A strike for the palms and the face." And 'Affan said: The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to say regarding Tayammum: "A strike for the face and the palms."
حدثنا عفان، ويونس، قالا: حدثنا أبان، حدثنا قتادة، عن عزرة، عن سعيد بن عبد الرحمن بن أبزى، عن أبيه، عن عمار بن ياسر، أن نبي الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال يونس:، إنه سأل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن التيمم، فقال: " ضربة للكفين والوجه " وقال عفان: إن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يقول في التيمم: " ضربة للوجه والكفين "
