Hadith 455:11
Muhammad ibn Bakr narrated to us, 'Abd al-Hamid—meaning Ibn Ja'far—narrated to us, he said: Al-Aswad ibn al-'Ala' narrated to me, from Hawwa', the freed slave of Sulayman ibn 'Abd al-Malik, from a man—whom 'Umar ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz sent for while he was the Commander of the Faithful, and he said: "How is the hadith that you narrated to me regarding al-Sunabihi?"—he said: Al-Sunabihi informed me that he met 'Amr ibn 'Abasah, and he said: "Is there any hadith from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, in which there is no addition and no omission?" He said: "Yes, I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say: 'Whoever frees a slave, Allah will free for every limb of his, a limb of his own from the Fire. And whoever shoots an arrow in the way of Allah, whether it reaches or falls short, it is equivalent to the freeing of a slave. And whoever grows a grey hair in the way of Allah, it will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection.'"
حدثنا محمد بن بكر، حدثنا عبد الحميد يعني ابن جعفر، قال: حدثني الأسود بن العلاء، عن حوى، مولى سليمان بن عبد الملك، عن رجل - أرسل إليه عمر بن عبد العزيز وهو أمير المؤمنين، قال: كيف الحديث الذي حدثتني عن الصنابحي؟ -، قال: أخبرني الصنابحي، أنه لقي عمرو بن عبسة، فقال: هل من حديث عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم لا زيادة فيه ولا نقصان؟ قال: نعم، سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: " من أعتق رقبة أعتق الله بكل عضو منها عضوا منه من النار، ومن رمى بسهم في سبيل الله بلغ أو قصر كان عدل رقبة، ومن شاب شيبة في سبيل الله كان له نورا يوم القيامة "
