Hadith 455:13
Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, from Ya‘la ibn ‘Ata’, from Yazid ibn Talq, from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Baylamani, from ‘Amr ibn ‘Abasah, who said: I came to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, who has accepted Islam with you?" He said: "A free man and a slave." I said: "Is there any hour closer to Allah the Exalted than another?" He said: "The middle of the latter part of the night. Pray as much as you wish until you pray the morning prayer, then refrain until the sun rises and remains as it were a shield until it spreads. Then pray as much as you wish until the pillar stands over its shadow, then refrain until the sun passes the meridian, for Hell is stoked at midday. Then pray as much as you wish until you pray the afternoon prayer, then refrain until the sun sets, for it sets between the horns of a devil and rises between the horns of a devil." "For when a servant performs ablution and washes his hands, his sins fall from his hands. When he washes his face, his sins fall from his face. When he washes his forearms and wipes his head, his sins fall from his forearms and his head. And when he washes his feet, his sins fall from his feet. Then, if he stands for prayer and directs himself, his heart, and his face—or his whole being—toward Allah the Exalted, he departs [from the prayer] as he was the day his mother gave birth to him." It was said to him: "Did you hear this from the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace)?" He said: "If I had not heard it once, or twice, or ten times, or twenty times, I would not have narrated it."
