Hadith of ‘Amr ibn ‘Abasah (RA)

Hadith 455:14

'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, he said: Ma'mar narrated to us, from Ayyub, from Abu Qilabah, from 'Amr ibn 'Abasah, he said: A man said: "O Messenger of Allah, what is Islam?" He said: "That your heart submits to Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, and that the Muslims are safe from your tongue and your hand." He said: "Then which Islam is best?" He said: "Faith (Iman)." He said: "And what is faith?" He said: "That you believe in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, and the resurrection after death." He said: "Then which faith is best?" He said: "Migration (Hijrah)." He said: "And what is migration?" He said: "That you abandon evil." He said: "Then which migration is best?" He said: "Jihad." He said: "And what is Jihad?" He said: "That you fight the disbelievers when you meet them." He said: "Then which Jihad is best?" He said: "He whose horse is hamstrung and his blood is spilled." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Then there are two deeds which are the best of deeds, unless one does the like of them: a Hajj that is accepted or an 'Umrah."
