Musnad Ahmad 551:17

Yahya ibn Ishaq narrated to us, he said: Layth ibn Sa’d narrated to us, from Yazid ibn Abi Habib, from Ali ibn Rabah, he said: I heard ‘Amr ibn al-‘As saying: "You have reached the morning and the evening desiring that which the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to renounce. You have reached the morning desiring the worldly life, while the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to renounce it. By Allah, not a single night passed over the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, in his lifetime, except that what was owed by him was more than what was owed to him." He said: So some of the companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said to him: "We have seen the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, borrowing." And someone other than Yahya said: "By Allah, three days never passed over the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, in his lifetime, except that what was owed by him was more than what was owed to him."
