Hadith 533:5
Husayn ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Sharik narrated to us, from Layth, from Shahr ibn Hawshab, from ‘Amr ibn Kharijah al-Thumali, who said: I asked the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, about the sacrificial animal (hady) that becomes incapacitated. The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Slaughter it, dye its sandal in its blood, and strike its side—or he said: its flank—with it, and do not eat anything from it, neither you nor the people of your company."
حدثنا حسين بن محمد، حدثنا شريك، عن ليث، عن شهر بن حوشب، عن عمرو بن خارجة الثمالي قال: سألت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم عن الهدي يعطب فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: " انحر، واصبغ نعله في دمه، واضرب به على صفحته - أو قال: على جنبه - ولا تأكلن منه شيئا، أنت ولا أهل رفقتك "
