Hadith of ‘Amr ibn Kharijah (RA)

Hadith 533:8

'Abd al-Wahhab al-Khaffaf narrated to us, he said: Sa'id informed us, from Qatadah, from Shahr ibn Hawshab, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Ghanam, from 'Amr ibn Kharijah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) delivered a sermon to us while he was at Mina, upon his riding beast, and I was beneath the neck of his she-camel, and it was chewing its cud, and its saliva was flowing between my shoulders. He said: "Indeed, Allah has apportioned for every person his share of the inheritance, and no bequest is permissible for an heir. Beware, the child is for the bed, and for the fornicator is the stone. Beware, whoever claims to be the son of someone other than his father, or attaches himself to someone other than his masters, turning away from them, then upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all of mankind." Sa'id said: And Matar narrated to us, from Shahr, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Ghanam, from 'Amr ibn Kharijah, from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) the like of it, and Matar added in the hadith: "And neither a mandatory act nor a supererogatory act shall be accepted from him."
