Hadith of Another Man

Hadith 838:1

Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, ‘Uthman ibn Ghiyath narrated to us, he said: I heard Abu al-Sulayl, he said: A man from the companions of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to narrate to the people until they would crowd around him, so he would climb onto the roof of a house and narrate to the people. He said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Which verse in the Quran is the greatest?" A man said: "{Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence} [Al-Baqarah: 255]." He said: So he placed his hand between my shoulder blades, and I felt its coolness between my chest, or he said: He placed his hand between my chest, and I felt its coolness between my shoulder blades. He said: "May knowledge congratulate you, O Abu al-Mundhir, [may] knowledge [congratulate you]."
