Narrated to us by Muhammad ibn Ja’far, who said: Narrated to us Shu’bah, from Abu Ishaq, who said: I heard al-Bara’ ibn ‘Azib say: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "The likeness of the believer is like the palm tree; whatever you take from it benefits you." And he said: "The likeness of the hypocrite is like the basil (ar-rayhan); its scent is pleasant, but its taste is bitter."
