Musnad Ahmad 1304:12

Hashim ibn al-Qasim narrated to us, 'Abd al-Hamid narrated to us, he said: Shahr ibn Hawshab narrated to me, he said: Asma bint Yazid narrated to me, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gathered the Muslim women for the pledge of allegiance. Asma said to him, "Will you not uncover your hand for us, O Messenger of Allah?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to her, "I do not shake hands with women, but I take the pledge from them." Among the women was a maternal aunt of hers who was wearing two gold bracelets and gold rings. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to her, "O woman, would it please you if Allah were to adorn you on the Day of Resurrection with two bracelets and rings of the embers of Hell?" She said, "I seek refuge in Allah, O Prophet of Allah." Asma said: I said, "O aunt, cast off what is upon you." So she cast it off. Asma narrated to me, "By Allah, O my son, she cast it off, and I do not know who picked it up from its place, nor did any of us turn to look at it." Asma said: I said, "O Prophet of Allah, one of them acts coquettishly for her husband if she does not beautify herself or adorn herself for him." The Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "What is it upon one of you to take two silver earrings, and take for herself two silver beads, then coat them between her fingertips with some saffron, so that it becomes like gold, glistening?"
