Musnad Ahmad 1304:42

'Abd al-Wahhab ibn 'Ata narrated to us, 'Abd al-Jalil al-Qaysi informed us, from Shahr ibn Hawshab, that Asma bint Yazid used to serve the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. She said: While I was with him, my maternal aunt came to him. She began asking him questions, and she was wearing two gold bracelets. The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said to her: "Would it please you if you had two bracelets of fire upon you?" She said: I said, "O my aunt, he only means these two bracelets of yours." She said: So she cast them off. She said: "O Prophet of Allah, if they do not adorn themselves, they become unappealing to their husbands." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, laughed and said: "Is one of you not able to make a collar of silver and a bead of silver, then dye it with saffron, so that it appears as if it were gold? For whoever adorns themselves with the weight of a locust's eye of gold, or a *kharbasisa* (a small bead), will be branded with it on the Day of Resurrection."
