Musnad Ahmad 1119:23

Hassan ibn Musa narrated to us, he said: Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, he said: Bukayr ibn al-Ashajj narrated to us, from Ya'qub ibn Abdullah, that Abdullah ibn Yazid, the storyteller of Maslamah, narrated to him, that Awf ibn Malik narrated to him, he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, saying: "No one shall tell stories except an amir (commander), or one who is commanded, or a show-off."
