Musnad Ahmad 1119:9

Ibrahim ibn Ishaq and Ali ibn Ishaq narrated to us, they said: Ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, he said: Sa’id ibn Abi Ayyub informed us, he said: Yazid ibn Abi Habib narrated to us, from Rabi’ah ibn Laqit, from Malik ibn Hadm, from ‘Awf ibn Malik al-Ashja’i, who said: We went on a military expedition and ‘Amr ibn al-‘As was in command over us, and we were struck by severe hunger. They passed by some people who had slaughtered a camel. I said: "I will prepare it for you on the condition that you feed me a portion of it." (Ibrahim said: "That you feed me from it?") So I prepared it, then I took what they gave me and brought it to ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab, but he refused to eat it. Then I brought it to Abu ‘Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrah, and he said the same as what ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab said, and he refused to eat it. Then, after that, I was sent to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) during a conquest, and he said: "Are you the owner of the camel?" I said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He did not add anything more to that for me.
