Musnad Ahmad 792:39

Makki ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, Bahz ibn Hakim informed us, from his father, from his grandfather, who said: When something was brought to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, he would ask about it: "Is it a gift or is it charity?" If they said, "A gift," he would extend his hand. And if they said, "Charity," he would say to his companions: "Take it."
