Hadith of Bashir ibn al-Khasasiyah (RA)

Hadith 905:4

Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, Aswad ibn Shayban informed us, from Khalid ibn Samir, from Bashir ibn Nahik, from Bashir, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who said: I was walking with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), holding his hand. He said to me: "O son of al-Khasasiyah, what have you come to resent against Allah this morning? You have come to walk with His Messenger." He said: I think he said: "Holding his hand." I said: I have not come to resent anything against Allah this morning; Allah has given me every good. He said: Then we came upon the graves of the polytheists, and he said: "These have missed much good," three times. Then we came upon the graves of the Muslims, and he said: "These have attained much good," three times, he said it. He said: Then he caught sight of a man walking among the graves wearing his sandals. He said: "Woe to you, O owner of the two *sabtiyyah* (leather sandals), cast off your two *sabtiyyah*," two or three times. The man looked, and when he saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he took off his sandals.
